School of Dentistry Celebrates Student Excellence

Last Friday evening, August 19th, over 300 School of Dentistry students and staff joined industry representatives and sponsors to celebrate academic excellence. The annual Student Prizes Night recognizes the outstanding efforts of students in the Bachelor of Oral Health (BOralH) and the Bachelor of Dental Science (BDSc) programs.

This year the glamorous event was held in the Sofitel Ball Room, where special guests included the Head of School, Professor Laurence Walsh; Dr Steven Kazoullis (Australian and New Zealand Society of Paediatric Dentistry); Dr Andrew Wong (Australian Dental Association); Jenny Morgan and Terri Stibbard (Colgate Oral Care); Mrs Patricia Jones – Alumni Friends of the University of Queensland Inc; Mr Bill Cronk and Rhonda Webb (Henry Schein/Halas); Dr Elizabeth Holder and Mr Bruce Newman (Queensland Public Sector Dentists Association); Dr Robert Junner (Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons); Mr Ross Dunn (Southside Dental Study Club) and Dr Roslyn Dick (Vardiman Dental Study Association).
